Softball Recap: East River's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, East River finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of the St. Cloud Bulldogs by a score of 4-2. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

East River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katherine Sanchez, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

East River's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for St. Cloud, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East River will venture away from home to take on Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Kowboys have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for St. Cloud, they will head out on the road to challenge West Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.89 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
