Football Game Preview: Waterloo East Trojans vs. Xavier Saints

The Waterloo East Trojans will challenge the Xavier Saints at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Waterloo East has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Xavier will arrive with six straight wins.

Waterloo East managed to slip by Mason City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans were dealt a 51-21 loss at the hands of the Mohawks on Friday. On the bright side, the 21- point effort marked the Trojans' highest-scoring game to date.

Meanwhile, Xavier won against Washington last Friday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Saints were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over Waverly-Shell Rock. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Xavier's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Waterloo East, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
