Basketball Recap: Dominic Nowak Key Part of Team Effort in Indians Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ogallala, Broken Bow was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They secured a 64-60 W over the Ord Chanticleers. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 62-45 win the Chanticleers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Broken Bow's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Nowak, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Nowak a new career-high in shooting accuracy (70%). Another player making a difference was Braxtton Johnson, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and four blocks.

Broken Bow was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Ord lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jordan Williams, who posted 16 points. Landon Critel was another key player, going 7-for-8 en route to 16 points.

Broken Bow's record is now 7-13. As for Ord, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13.

Broken Bow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-43 loss against Cozad on the 14th. As for Ord, they have also already played their next match, a 73-49 win against O'Neill on the 14th.
