On Friday Franklin County's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 34-33 W against the Spencer County Bears. Given the Flyers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Bears are ranked 84th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Barret Knox, who threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The Flyers' leading receiver Coen Taylor was Knox's top target yet again, picking up 79 receiving yards and one score.

Franklin County's record is now 7-0. As for Spencer County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Franklin County has already played their next contest, a 63-0 victory against Grant County on the 10th. As for Spencer County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 42-7 win against Shelby County on the 10th.
