Volleyball Recap: Murphysboro's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of three wins, Murphysboro's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carterville Lions. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

While Murphysboro was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-22.

Murphysboro's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Carterville, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Murphysboro will face off against rival Massac County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carterville is set to take on their familiar foe Herrin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
