Softball Game Preview: Crittenden County Rockets vs. Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons

The Crittenden County Rockets will challenge the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crittenden County will be strutting in after a win while Madisonville-North Hopkins will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Crittenden County turned things around against Murray on Friday. They blew past the Tigers 13-2. The Rockets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 16-0).

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Madisonville-North Hopkins nor Webster County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Maroons fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-1. The Maroons' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Madisonville-North Hopkins saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Killough, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Crittenden County's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Madisonville-North Hopkins, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

Crittenden County came out on top in a nail-biter against Madisonville-North Hopkins when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
