Football Recap: Terra Nova Tigers vs. Jefferson Grizzlies
Terra Nova had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 24-6 victory over the Jefferson Grizzlies on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Zachary Perez went supernova for Terra Nova, rushing for 167 yards and a touchdown. Perez also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (1.5 for loss) in addition to snagging two interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terra Nova will venture away from home to take on Burlingame at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they square off against Capuchino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
