Softball Recap: Winston County Beats Addison for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Winston County put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 16-12 victory over the Addison Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Ella Kennedy, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Chasty Garrison was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Winston County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Winston County's record now sits at 3-0. As for Addison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winston County will challenge Brilliant at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Addison, they will face off against Cold Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
