Baseball Recap: Dasche's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

DasCHE can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Aspire HomeSchool Trailblazers as they made off with a 6-0 win. The Spartans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 12-0).

The result came thanks to Jackson Gardner's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ashton Laurendine and Cameron Melerine did most of the damage at the plate: Laurendine went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Melerine went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Melerine is becoming a predictor of DasCHE's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-17 when he doesn't).

DasCHE's victory bumped their record up to 12-17. As for Aspire HomeSchool, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

DasCHE will head out to challenge Fairfax HomeSchool at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Aspire HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
