Basketball Game Preview: University Bulldogs vs. Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors

The University Bulldogs will challenge the Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. University is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

University is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Resurrection Christian, who was ranked 25th at the time (University was ranked 16th). University came out on top against Resurrection Christian by a score of 50-38 on Saturday.

University got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Trujillo out in front who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Maddie McNair was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Eagle Ridge Academy played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 53-23 loss at the hands of Colorado Academy. The Warriors have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

University will have to keep a close watch on Jaz Greenwood and Madi DiLorenzo, a pair of players who had a big impact on Eagle Ridge Academy's prior game. Greenwood had five points and eight steals, while DiLorenzo almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. Greenwood is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Eagle Ridge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 23-0.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: University hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.6 points per game. It's a different story for Eagle Ridge Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 35.9 points. The only thing between University and another offensive beatdown is Eagle Ridge Academy. Will they be able to keep them contained?

Everything came up roses for University against Eagle Ridge Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as the team secured a 55-15 victory. Does University have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eagle Ridge Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
