Preview: Oxford Pirates vs. Prouty Panthers
The Oxford Pirates will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Prouty Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Oxford didn't have too much trouble with Quaboag Regional at home as they won 62-46.
Brady Marqoupis was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Kofi Owusu, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Prouty had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 70-67 victory over Southbridge. Given Prouty's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Southbridge is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Oxford's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Prouty, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
