Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Jac-Cen-Del Eagles

Trinity Lutheran hasn't had much luck against Jac-Cen-Del recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will square off against the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Trinity Lutheran has given up an average of 59.2 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Trinity Lutheran is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Greenwood Christian Academy, falling 69-39.

Despite the loss, Trinity Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braxton Sinclair went 6-for-11 to rack up 16 points. Sinclair's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Schepman, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Jac-Cen-Del was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to South Ripley at home by a 54-38 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Raiders are ranked 49th).

Trinity Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Jac-Cen-Del, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.

Trinity Lutheran lost to Jac-Cen-Del on the road by a decisive 52-36 margin when the teams last played back in February. Can Trinity Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
