Basketball Recap: Zionsville Eagles vs. Hamilton Southeastern Royals

After flying high against Parke Heritage last Saturday, Zionsville came back down to earth. The Zionsville Eagles were dealt a 67-33 loss at the hands of the Hamilton Southeastern Royals on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Royals recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Emma Tinder and Emily Zack certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Tinder posted ten points, while Zack had nine points. Macey Ring also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Hamilton Southeastern was led to victory by Maya Makalusky and Kennedy Holman. Makalusky went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points, while Holman dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 assists. Makalusky continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Kayla Stidham was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Zionsville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Hamilton Southeastern, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.
