Soccer Recap: Saint James Starts Season with Loss at Home

Saint James unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Gerstell Academy by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Saint James couldn't quite close it out.

Vansh Thakkar and Jacob Versino scored both of Saint James' goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Saint James didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Fort Hill on the 22nd. As for Gerstell Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beth Tfiloh at 4:00 p.m. on September 2.
