Preview: Bethesda Academy vs. Williamsburg Academy Stallions
Bethesda Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Williamsburg Academy Stallions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bethesda Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Northside Christian Academy 32-6. With Bethesda Academy ahead 24-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It was another big night for Noah Jenkins, who rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Jenkins was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Beaufort Academy, posting a 41-6 victory at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Williamsburg Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
Williamsburg Academy had a senior duo take command as Camden Moore gained 176 total yards and four touchdowns and Conrad Balder threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. JD Sholar was another key contributor, picking up 55 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bethesda Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.6 points per game. As for Williamsburg Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game Saturday as Bethesda Academy and Williamsburg Academy have no problem gaining yardage. Bethesda Academy has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 397.5 total yards per game. However, it's not like Williamsburg Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 389.8 per game.
