Softball Recap: Fort Frye Comes Up Short

Fort Frye lost against Point Pleasant back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cadets fell just short of the Big Blacks by a score of 9-8. While the Cadets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Big Blacks 6-0 in the first period.

Maddie Hinton was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season. Another player making a difference was Faith Treadway, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Fort Frye has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Point Pleasant, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Fort Frye has already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against River on the 8th. As for Point Pleasant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-8 win against George Washington on the 8th.
