The Austintown-Fitch Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Lakeview Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Austintown-Fitch is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Aurora, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Austintown-Fitch was ranked 14th). The Falcons blew past the Greenmen 14-3 on Monday. Considering the Falcons have won 13 games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kourtney Fedorek spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Austintown-Fitch got a massive performance out of Abby Toth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI Toth has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Folkwein, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Lakeview entered their tilt with Girard on Monday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Indians.
Lakeview also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ava Bacon gave up just two earned runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, Lakeview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Barnott, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Ella Collins, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Lakeview's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Austintown-Fitch, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.
Austintown-Fitch took their victory against Lakeview in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
