Softball Recap: Shadow Hills Has No Trouble Against Palm Springs

Shadow Hills put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let the Palm Springs Indians get on the board and left with a 25-0 victory. That 25 run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Karla Cerda looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Shadow Hills got a massive performance out of Gianna Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Hernandez has posted since back in March of 2024. Amariz Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Shadow Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Shadow Hills' record now sits at 3-1. As for Palm Springs, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shadow Hills will take on Xavier Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shadow Hills is facing Xavier Prep at the right time seeing as Xavier Prep is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Palm Springs, they will challenge Excelsior Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Excelsior Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
