North Branch dropped their record down to 10-4-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Oxford Wildcats, falling 10-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Broncos, who until this match were averaging 3.73 runs allowed.

North Branch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaydon Hutchinson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Parker Faith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Oxford, their record is now 20-14-1. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Oxford's side, Dean Rice looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Nolan Mauser was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Lovins, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Branch will face off against Armada at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Oxford, they will square off against Lapeer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
