Baseball Game Preview: South Florence Bruins vs. Crestwood Knights

The South Florence Bruins will take on the Crestwood Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, South Florence came up short against East Clarendon and fell 5-2.

Chance Caulder was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, South Florence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Robinson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Crestwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Wilson, falling 17-1.

Crestwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for South Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Everything went South Florence's way against Crestwood in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, as South Florence made off with a 15-0 win. Will South Florence repeat their success, or does Crestwood has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
