Softball Recap: Delta Eagles vs. Northeastern Knights

Delta lost against Northeastern back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell 12-8 to the Knights.

Addie Smith and Ava West did some serious damage despite the final result: Smith scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while West scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those runs marked the first that Smith scored this season. Jordyn Hughes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple.

Delta has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Northeastern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta will venture away from home to square off against Centerville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
