Basketball Recap: Roseau Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Roseau can now relate to. They took a 72-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thief River Falls Prowlers on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Prowlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-46 back in December of 2024.

Bridger Wilcox was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 29 points and 12 boards for Thief River Falls. That's the most rebounds Wilcox has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Everett Nelson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards.

Roseau has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Thief River Falls and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Roseau does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thief River Falls, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-68 victory against Perham on the 8th.
