The Southern Lee Cavaliers will square off against the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southern Lee is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Harnett Central on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cavaliers were beaten by the Trojans 50-13. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-6.

Meanwhile, Lee County entered their matchup against Union Pines on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Yellow Jackets had to suffer through a 42-3 loss at the hands of the Vikings. The game marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lee County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Southern Lee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Southern Lee couldn't quite finish off Lee County in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 and fell 21-18.
