Softball Recap: Packinghouse Christian Academy Gets the Win

Packinghouse Christian Academy won the last time they faced Cornerstone Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bears came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Emily Toma made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Toma was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

In other batting news, Savannah Ybarra was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Madison Hopkins, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Packinghouse Christian Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Packinghouse Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Calvary Baptist at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Norton Science & Language Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
