Football Recap: Princeton Tigers vs. Capital Cougars

Princeton had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Capital Cougars as they made off with a 28-7 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Princeton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brad Mossor, who picked up 166 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown. That's the most receiving yards Mossor has posted since back in October of 2024. Jake Belcher helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards.

Another reason for the win was Princeton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Brady Cline was especially locked on to Capital's QB and sacked him twice.

Princeton and Capital will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers are set to challenge their familiar foe Bluefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Capital will square off against rival Cabell Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
