Softball Recap: Fall Creek Comes Up Short

Fall Creek came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-4 to the Bloomer Blackhawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crickets have suffered against the Blackhawks since April 23, 2018.

Fall Creek dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 3.5 runs. As for Bloomer, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fall Creek will welcome Prescott at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crickets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Bloomer, they will host Cadott at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
