Recap: San Tan Charter Roadrunners vs. Veritas Prep Falcons
The San Tan Charter Roadrunners can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 66-36 win over Veritas Prep at home. The win was familiar territory for San Tan Charter who now have four in a row.
San Tan Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zaire Richardson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Kylen Bonner was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casen Lentz, who scored 12 points along with four steals and two blocks. Lentz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Perry, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
San Tan Charter is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Veritas Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
San Tan Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Leading Edge Academy - GEC at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Leading Edge Academy - GEC focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Tuesday. Veritas Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Anthem Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
