Basketball Game Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. Clinton Dark Horses

The South Lenoir Blue Devils will face off against the Clinton Dark Horses at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: South Lenoir has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Clinton will arrive with three straight wins.

South Lenoir is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 55-43 to Ayden - Grifton on Friday. The matchup was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but the Blue Devils couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the defeat, South Lenoir got top-tier performance from Gracie Tyndall, who went 13 for 29 on her way to 27 points and seven boards. That was a full 62.8% of South Lenoir's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Makenzie Herring was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Clinton humbled Princeton with a 63-16 victory. The Dark Horses have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 47 points or more this season.

Clinton's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for South Lenoir, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

South Lenoir took a serious blow against Clinton in their previous matchup on Wednesday, falling 65-11. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point South Lenoir was down 48-8.
