Baseball Game Preview: Little Falls Flyers vs. Cloquet Lumberjacks

The Little Falls Flyers will square off against the Cloquet Lumberjacks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Little Falls will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Pierz, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Flyers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Pioneers on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flyers.

Peter Knopik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Little Falls' win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Prescott Romaine, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cloquet owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Alexandria, sneaking past 2-0.

Aiden Theisen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
