Cookeville is a perfect 3-0 against LaVergne since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cavaliers will square off against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Cookeville managed to slip by Stewarts Creek the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cavaliers lost 13-1 to the Red Hawks on Tuesday.

Cookeville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kali Webb, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, LaVergne came up short against Central Magnet two weeks ago, falling 21-10.

LaVergne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Cookeville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Cookeville took their victory against LaVergne in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 14-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
