Hays is a perfect 7-0 against Lockhart since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hawks will challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Hays will be strutting in after a victory while Lockhart will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Hays beat Rouse 45-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Lockhart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt an 87-23 loss at the hands of Liberty Hill. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 817th, while the Panthers are ranked 56th).

Lockhart's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Hays, their win bumped their record up to 19-11.

Everything came up roses for Hays against Lockhart when the teams last played on January 6th, as the squad secured a 60-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
