Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is Sylacauga's Third in Last Four Outings

Sylacauga won the last time they faced Comer and things went their way on Monday too. The Sylacauga Aggies never let the Comer Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won six matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sylacauga got a massive performance out of Connor Phillips, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Phillips a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Sylacauga was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in three consecutive games.

Sylacauga has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. Comer is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Sylacauga has already played their next match, a 10-0 defeat against Briarwood Christian on the 18th. As for Comer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against Childersburg on the 18th.
