Softball Recap: Brookfield East Spartans vs. Waukesha West Wolverines

Brookfield East gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Waukesha West Wolverines 5-4.

Layla Diehl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Brookfield East's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Wahlen, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
