Football Recap: Palos Verdes Skates Past St. Bernard with Ease

Palos Verdes's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 34-0 win over the St. Bernard Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Sea Kings, who have now won three matches by 28 points or more so far this season.

Ellie Correa was her usual excellent self, throwing for 154 yards and four touchdowns. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times she's played.

Another reason for the win was Palos Verdes' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Audrey Goeppner and Kennedy Baranick, who racked up four sacks between them. With that strong performance, Baranick is now averaging an impressive 1.2 defended passes per game.

Palos Verdes' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for St. Bernard, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Palos Verdes wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 50-0 win against Norwalk on the 23rd. As for St. Bernard, they will be playing at home against Hawthorne on September 2.
