Paramount has gone a perfect 10-0 against Dominguez recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Dons at 3:00 p.m. Paramount is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Paramount took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Downey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Vikings 4-3. The game was the first time the Pirates have beaten the Vikings on their field since May 18, 2021.

Jacob Quino?es and Luis Banuelos made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Quino?es pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Banuelos pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Quino?es has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Quino?es went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run, while Banuelos went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those four hits gave Quino?es a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Diego Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Dominguez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 9-6 to Paramount.
Benjamin Suarez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Ryan Flores also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Paramount and bumps their season record up to 11-3. As for Dominguez, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Dominguez's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Paramount hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Dominguez, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Paramount's hitters?
Paramount was able to grind out a solid victory over Dominguez in their previous meeting on Tuesday, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
