Baseball Game Preview: Scott Highlanders vs. Oakdale Eagles

The Scott Highlanders will head out to face off against the Oakdale Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Scott's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

If Scott beats Oakdale with 14 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Everything went Scott's way against Clarkrange on Thursday as Scott made off with a 14-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Oakdale suffered their closest defeat since April 19, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Wartburg Central by a score of 3-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oakdale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Scott's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-2. As for Oakdale, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
