Softball Recap: Grayson County Cougars vs. Barren County Trojans
Grayson County had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it five. They lost 17-0 to the Barren County Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since March 20th.
As for Barren County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
For Barren County's part, Adley Cunningham looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Cunningham has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kaitie Elmore was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Briley Aidala was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grayson County will welcome Hart County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Barren County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Clinton County at 6:00 p.m.
