Sterling piles up the points against Sharpstown

Recap: Sterling Raiders vs. Sharpstown Apollos

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 7 on the offensive boards, a fact the Sterling Raiders proved on Monday. They breezed by Sharpstown at home to the tune of 80-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sterling.

Henry Beteta was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Christian Rogers, who scored 13 points.

Sharpstown's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kobe Hines, who scored 19 points, and Kunye Ward who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Hines scored a full 47.5% of Sharpstown's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Sterling's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Sharpstown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Sterling will head out on the road to face off against Austin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sharpstown will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Beaumont United at 8:00 a.m. on November 30th. Beaumont United presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sharpstown in Texas (Beaumont United is ranked 29th, while Sharpstown is ranked 1241st).
