Baseball Recap: Rusk Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the Rusk Eagles earned an 8-3 win over the Brownsboro Bears.

Tim Hill made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. Hill was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jermicheal Sturns was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Hunter Moore was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Rusk pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Brownsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Rusk will be taking part in a tournament against Diboll at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brownsboro, they will square off against Edgewood at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
