Baseball Recap: Bladensburg Comes Up Short

Bladensburg had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it 12. They came up short against the High Point Eagles, falling 27-5. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 31-4 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for High Point, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2. That 22 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For High Point's part, Wander Pe?a made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pe?a was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Yojancel Soto was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ramon Brito Jr, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
