Baseball Recap: Overton Drops Season-High Score on Craigmont

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Overton). Everything went their way against the Craigmont Chiefs on Friday as Overton made off with a 20-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won six in a row.

Overton got a massive performance out of Jeremiah Haynes, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Overton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Overton's win bumped their record up to 7-1-1. As for Craigmont, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Overton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-3 defeat against White Station on the 24th. As for Craigmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 18-10 victory against Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering on the 24th.
