Football Game Preview: New Haven Rockets vs. Madison Eagles

The New Haven Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Madison Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Haven will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

New Haven is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They lost 36-14 to Clintondale on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost eight in a row.

Although New Haven took the loss, they still got scores from Freazie White and Darrien Wilmer.

Meanwhile, Madison humbled Lincoln with a 50-8 victory. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Madison and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 22 points in those games. As for New Haven, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

New Haven was dealt a bruising 46-6 loss at the hands of Madison when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
