Baseball Recap: St. John Lutheran Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ocala Christian last Friday, St. John Lutheran came back down to earth. The St. John Lutheran Saints fell 7-2 to the Lake Weir Hurricanes on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now lost seven in a row.

St. John Lutheran saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaki McDougal, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI. Adam Stillwell was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

St. John Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Lake Weir, their record now sits at 2-6.

Coming up, St. John Lutheran will head out to face off against Meadowbrook Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Weir, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. Lake Weir is facing Leesburg at the right time seeing as Leesburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
