Basketball Game Preview: Claremont Wolfpack vs. Ayala Bulldogs

Claremont is 2-8 against Ayala since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Claremont Wolfpack will host the Ayala Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Claremont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.

Claremont is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 78-41 loss at the hands of Glendora. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 865th, while the Tartans are ranked 56th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tony Wang, who posted six points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Cardenas, who had nine points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ayala, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Diamond Bar out 64-61. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Claremont's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Ayala, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
