Basketball Recap: Milton Eagles vs. Woodward Academy War Eagles

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Milton couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Woodward Academy War Eagles by a score of 58-56 on Saturday. The Eagles were up 31-16 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Woodward Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jarvis Hayes Jr. out in front who went 5-for-12 on his way to 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hayes Jr. has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Zachary Foster was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Woodward Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.
