Baseball Recap: Dixon Takes a Loss

Dixon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rochelle Hubs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hubs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Saturday.

Brady Lawrence was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Jagger Kemp was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Dixon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Rochelle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-18.

Looking ahead, Dixon will be playing in front of their home fans against Sterling at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rochelle, they will head out to challenge Forreston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hubs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
