Baseball Game Preview: Bentley Bulldogs vs. Genesee Christian Soldiers

The Bentley Bulldogs will face off against the Genesee Christian Soldiers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Bentley put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Carman-Ainsworth as they made off with a 16-7 win. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Dominic Star made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Bowman, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Bentley: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Logan Workman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Genesee Christian came out on top against Washtenaw Christian Academy on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Soldiers took their contest against the Wildcats 11-7.

The win was the third in a row for Bentley, bringing their record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Genesee Christian, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.

Bentley skirted past Genesee Christian 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Soldiers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
