Volleyball Recap: Marquette Falls Short Against Ranked Valor College Prep

Marquette is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Valor College Prep. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Wildcats.

Danaya Petkova paced Marquette's offense, picking up six kills. Petkova got some help from Camille Plunkett and her seven assists. Finally, Teagan Pocius kept Marquette's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Marquette's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Valor College Prep, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Marquette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Dobyns-Bennett on the 19th. As for Valor College Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Arlington on the 19th.
