            Softball Preview: Skyline Hawks vs. Warren County Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Skyline is 9-1 against Warren County since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hawks will host the Wildcats  at 3:00  p.m. Warren County took a loss in their last  game and will be looking to turn the tables on Skyline, who comes in off a win.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Skyline and Meridian, and Skyline kept the tradition alive. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs  a   10-0 shutout  on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the  matchup before.

Skyline got a great performance from  Mackenzie McIntyre as she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those  ten  strikeouts gave  McIntyre a new career-high.
 At the plate,  Alice Benson was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Emma Veitenthal was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Warren County was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight  loss  dating back to last season. They lost  14-4 to James Wood. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by  exactly ten  runs.
 Skyline is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Warren County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
 Everything went Skyline's way against Warren County in their previous meeting  back in March, as Skyline made off with  an  11-1 victory. Do  the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
