It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Evergreen Park ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Blue Island Eisenhower Cardinals 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 8th.

Rowan Smyth was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Carlos Flores also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Evergreen Park and bumps their season record up to 17-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
